Over a century ago, the first Ford Model T rolled out the doors of a secret room constructed in the corner of Ford Motor Company’s Piquette Avenue factory. Henry Ford and his team spent months behind its locked doors, working on creating the “universal car”. In 1908, only a handful of people were allowed to see inside, but now it’s about to be revealed to the public.
On Sunday, September 24, 2017, at 11:00 am the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant will be officially unveiling its newest exhibit, a recreation of the Secret Experimental Room where Henry Ford and his team built the first Model T- the world’s first affordable car. The unveiling is taking place just as the Piquette Plant is celebrating the famous car’s 109th birthday.
The birthday celebration will include Model T rides, birthday cupcakes, and a car show of early Ford automobiles in the parking lot. Model T rides will begin at 12:00 pm.
